Solving TV’s Navigation Bottleneck
Voice Control, Advanced Remotes Promise To Tame TV Complexity
by Josh Bernoff with Chris Charron
As channels and VOD programs multiply, TV faces a navigation bottleneck. Today’s program guides,
buttons, and menus can’t cope. Of the new navigation paradigms on the horizon, products like

transform cable television, consumer electronics, and satellite. The new navigation will challenge TV
Guide’s dominance and force TV networks to jockey for position in these new interfaces.
